Can windows movie maker do basic special effects like an explosion?

Do you mean chroma-ing in the explosion, or just a stock video effect of an explosion, kinda like in After Effects?

yucky WMM. I don't believe it can. (i assume you are referring to compositing stock footage into your movies)

I think thats what he means to say, and if that is what you're talking about, aspiring-screenwriter-pat, then no it can't. And ya, WMM is yucky. I have to use it all the time cuz I don't have money for the editing program I want.

no. but if you go to the windows movie maker forums on windows.com you can get the bluscreen effect. its not very great but its all WMM can do.

I can't wait till the day I get Vegas.WMM,its so,ugh.I mean yuck.And no I don't believe it can,for that you would need multiple video tracks,which it doesn't have.that phrase,"it doesn't have it" can probably be applied to most other things in WMM also

I found some tutorial that shows you how to chroma key with bluescreen, greenscree, blackscree and white screen in wmm. I think I found it browsing through detonation films.
