I have my back up dell here and was wondering if I could get a second hard drive and install leapord on it? ( I dont want to partition my main drive now)

The specs are a P4 running at 2.8, 1 GB of 667 DDR2 A Evga 6200 and 2 Dual layer DVD Burners.
Do I need anything extra?
I love my Macbook but I also want to add it to my dell so I can run XP Media Center and Leapord.

Is this possible?

Yes you can! http://dailyapps.net/2007/12/hack-attack-install-leopard-on-your-pc-in-just-one-step/

But you have to make sure you know the specifics of your hardware for choosing what part of the instillation to use.

You can, but legally you can't. It's against the terms of service to install Mac software on a PC. You're allowed to buy it if you have a PC, but you aren't allowed to install it. Ridiculous.

Yeah...they did this on cnet. A bit of work to do it, and then you just went against their License Agreement....real fun...huh?

It's not that stupid. It keeps the software limited to their products, so it is easier to troubleshoot and make sure it all works.

Well actually Mac keeps the software on their products so they won't go through the whole pirating fiasco that Microsoft is suffering with Windows.

It's like OS DRM.

Most people who install Leapord on a non-mac computer pirate the OS. It's the issue of not being allowed to install it means you are already breaking the rules - so some feel "why buy the OS on a disk, when I'll have to download a working one for my computer illegally anyway?"

I just find it humorous when many mac "fanatics" (not fans or people who like the OS, but people who try to push it on everyone else as a revolution/culture - it's still just a computer) paint Microsoft as a closed off conglomerate trying to shut off users and maintain control - "Big Brother" type, watch over you, control - when Apple has some of the same business practices.

Well...that is correct in many ways :

You can't get the iphone for the new cheaper price if you don't go with their partner, AT&T.

You Can't install their OS on another machine, legally.

You can't build a Mac, thus keeping the macs over priced.

Things like RAM and such are way overpriced in the Mac Store.

The List could go on, but, I don't feel like thinking right now.

I'm not saying that Microsoft/Windows is better, but, I am agreeing with elscotto's comment about people trying to push Mac's on everyone. They're not perfect, just as every other company, Apple's in it for the money.

Macs are not bad and Windows PCs are not bad (certain computers can be though it they aren't used/built properly).

There is no overall better computer, just a better computer for your own needs. They both have their pros and cons, but in the end, both companies are out to make money.

Well I will never buy any mp3 or a touchscreen device from Apple when I can just build my own for 120 bucks: http://teuthis.com/html/daisy_mp3.html

and build my own touchscreen for free: http://www.whitenoiseaudio.com/touchlib/ or http://touchd.sourceforge.net/ or http://youtube.com/watch?v=pQpr3W-YmcQ

Bite me Apple and western capitalism, I'm competent enough to build my own high tech gizmodary.

I used this tutorial before to install leopard on my laptop

http://dailyapps.net/2007/12/hack-attack-install-leopard-on-your-pc-in-just-one-step/

the only problem I had was getting the wireless drivers to work but you can get around that you just have to find hacked drivers for the system.
