For some reason, everytime i import my footage into After Effects, the frame rate gets off and it'll drop in and out of real time. Any idea what's going on?

Go to "composition -> composition settings" and check to make sure the framerate (and everything else) matches that of your original footage.

I did. I made sure everything was 24 and still nothing. Do you think it was something having to do with my original captruring software?

It could be...what did you use?

Try watching your video in another program and see if the footage is jumpy there. Did you try doing a ram preview in AE or just hitting the play button?

I found this editing software called Movie Edit Pro 12 in my room so I installed that and used that to capture the footage.

Was it a ram preview you did in after effects or just hit the play button. If it was just the play button that often slips in and out of realtime...there is nothing wrong with your footage.
