I'm getting a iMac soon to help me make films, most great film makers nowadays use Mac so i thought i might as well too. they have great programs that all work well with eachother, and i can't stop having fun with Photobooth :P

And a built-in firewire port. (thank god!)

Cool which you getting. I have a Macbook, and use Final Cut express and it's great. I use iMovie for some simple videos as it's a fun little program to use.

that could be a bad idea....

i use a G5, and i edit mostly on final cut pro. its really great, it can be a little annoying at first but once you get over the basics its fun.

I got a massive Belkin firewire cable with gold plated ends, good quality off ebay. Ebay is pretty good for saving money on firewire cables, they tend to be very expensive in shops.

Well i'm getting a new computer so it's Mac all the way! No dumb tower to keep pulling out so i can switch the audio, or put in the WiFi Adaptor.

Are you buying a new iMac? The one that comes with iLife 08? I watched a video on Apple's site about all the new features of iLife 08, including the new and improved iMovie! I don't know if the video is still up but just looking at the changes to all the programs makes me want to upgrade my old PowerBook G4!

Now if only the wife would let me buy a new iMac... maybe I could convince her that it'd be for her... :steve:

I have a cheap one too, I just needed a long one so I went with a good quality one because of the length.

My dad hates Macs so much, whenever hes on one he accidentally crashes it.
