Over at Deep Discount they are having a sale on all Criterion until the end of this month, it's buy one get one free.

They must be clearing them out since Criterion is planning on going Blu-Ray, and trying to liquidate then DVD backlogs.

This is a great chance to really expand your film collection with some really classic, quality stuff, you've got a week to send in your orders so check it out, great opportunity.

Yea, i'm literally making a list now, i'm going to try to buy maybe 10 or so, so i'm making a list of 10 lesser value Criterion that I also want.

I just thought everyone else would like the opportunity to grab some of these to.

Their dvd's seem overpriced.

Dude, they're criterion, they cost more because of the quality, among other things.

They aren't. They undertake professional restoration of all of these films, many of which are impossible to find outside of Criterion release.

Not to mention the shear amount of extra features you get with the films. The Royal Tenenbaums Criterion I have has a poster a booklet, and is like 2 disks, full of interviews and behind the scenes stuff.

Every release is just like this, you get a PILE of stuff for every film.

Some of the restorations are even supervised by the original DP too.

I've picked out walkabout and videodrome so far.

Slow on the draw...most of the stock is picked over.

A lot of them are really barebones too though. Like the original release of Sanjuro had hardly anything on it. Same with most of their pre-2006 single discs; a lot of which are being re-released now (i.e. High and Low)

Sorry about the double post.

This really does look like an unbelievable deal... unfortunately I just made a ridiculously massive DVD order at another online shop - and spent all my money on other movies.

Thankfully none of the stuff I bought was Criterion - otherwise I'd be pissed.

I don't think they will drop DVD's completely, I mean EVENTUALLY they will, but they are shifting their focus to Blu-Ray most definitely.

DeepDiscount always pulls this shit on me.

I just got my second load of DVDs from them and yet again, the order is fucked up.

I ordered Red Beard and 8 1/2 and they sent me 8 1/2 and Le Cercle Rouge.

DeepDiscount has always been a first stop on my internet routine, but they have been screwin' me since I found out about them. Usually it isn't a problem, but this is the fifth time I've had to send shit back.
