Okay, I have a Mini-DV camera, A Sony Handycam Model Number HCR-26 to be exact, it has served me well for a couple years, but lately at the worst possible time, When I try to record videos and play them back it doesn't work. Something flashed a while back about dirty tape head, or something, but I'm completely lost, and I really need to fix this tonight, without buying anything, PLEASE HELP.

If it flashed "dirty tape head" you are going to need a head cleaning tape (cheapest way to fix it). The tape should cost around $10, but there isn't a no-cost way to clean the heads that I'd suggest.

There's no way I can do it myself? Even if it's risky?

There aren't really any free head cleaning methods that I know of. Sorry.

No you can't get to the heads. Plus if you tried to wash them, you might tear something on them and destroy the writers. Cleaning tapes aren't that expensive. And you can use them multiple times.

I know, but I really needed it tommorow, and I don't have time to pick up a cleaning tape tonight.
Where are the heads?

Even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you. Don't go destroying your camera. At the moment you have a potentially functional camera. If you fuck with it, you'll just have a non-functional camera.
I don't know about you, but my camera/our camera came with head cleaner tapes.

You'll be better off when it is clean!
