I tried making the joker make-up, with prosthetics. The prosthetics worked ok, but there was some problems. How can I make it better

A bit of green hairdye...

It needs to be smooth. Add a layer or two more of liquid latex next time.

...and neck-length green hair. You're like 66% there.

33.3% White face with raccoon eyes
33.3% Red scar smile
33.3% Green hair

equals Joker makeup.

It seems like a little to much of everything. It may just be me, but I notice when people do their own Joker, they seem to overload on the white face and the raccoon eyes. If you look at Heath Ledger's make-up, it's more worn and thin. Maybe I'm losing my mind.

It does become more worn through out the movie from sweat and such.

You seem to be doing fine on the make up, the guys up there have said what you need to improve. But don't forger to sell it, you must act a bit like him in order to make the illusion better. So next time you take a pic of you in joker make up, put some facial expression of the Joker into it.

try to get the prostetic, on the left side of your face a little closer to the mouth (on the picture, it is one on the right) it looks like there is a gap, which wouldn't make sense.

Blend the black of the eyes a bit more so that it's not such a defined edge against the white - it looks too stark right now. And if you feel comfortable, try putting some eyeliner around your lashlines so that you don't have that little felshtone bit right around your eyeball. Also, a slightly darker red might work better. And maybe blend the white base beyond your face (down your neck, etc). Obviosuly green hair would help but that may not be an option - try just wetting it down a little and messing it around (don't worry if the water smudges the makeup a bit!).

Good start, though.

Well in mos of the movie his make-up is running or parts of it is gone from his face, from sweating, being beaten, etc. i would say try making it run a little.

that looks reallyy good for starting out, but i noticed that the cut marks around the mouth didnt seem like they were connected to the mouth. but what would really make it seem cool would be grayish-greenish hair, and rub your eyes a little bit so they can give that worn out look. (i just saw the movie, and the joker really make himself look scary with the worn out make up. and it wouldnt hurt to show some cuts or something. just a thought)

Yeah... what everyone else said... and the raccoon eyes were too big. Yes they were big on his face, but his face was also a lot bigger than yours. Also, your red smile makeup should thin out as it's leaves your mouth, yours stays too fat the whole way out. I dunno, maybe you could pick some slightly tamer colors. They seemed to be softer (though that could just be because of the way they were applied... I have no idea). Anyways that was my 2 cents... I know nothing about make up.

thanks everyone, this wasn't me in the picture, and the guy isn't an actor, so i will try it on me, and do some creepy faces. We are getting some green hair stuff when we get more cash

the prostetics look like they may be a bit too big as well, just play around with the size and position and make the make up thinner and less neat.
