Hey guys, I just my hands on some good editing soft ware, couldn't take Microsoft movie maker anymore. Anyway, I'm having trouble making a voice over, it picks up what I'm saying, but its really...really low even with my speakers up all the way. Even when I basically scream into the Microphone. Anyone got any tips?

if you're using a real microphone not something that came with your computer or whatever you'll need a pre amp. also if you dont have a pre amp using a compressor after you've recorded can greatly boost the volume levels.

I'll have to see what kind of Mic it is it probably came with program (I got it for free off a family member) Only thing is I boosted the volume for the Mic all the way up and turned the backround audio from recording itself basically all the down its a little louder but not really.

rofl I don't have box for editing thing I think its Pinicle 10, and the box that comes with it. I'm actually looking up shotgun microphones. Its werid though no matter what I do you can barely hear me I'm trying to make a parody of the vages commercials lol.

ok well, a shotgun microphone A isn't what you want for voice overs and B wont do you any good if you dont know how to use it.
so again your best bet is to get a cheap pre amp. pros do it, people do it, i do it too. that should solve all your volume troubles, if not a compressor (computer plug in) should work well too.
the pre amp can also make the vocals sound very nice, warm and fuzzy, if you buy a nice one, but the one i posted a link to is just fine.
