I think I've got the one in the first picture. It's by the same company, I'd need to dig it out from my basement though!

Whoa...film with those, bro.

I'd kill for an 8mm. It's a pain in the ass to edit, but its incredibly sexy-lookin'

I think the Keystone is a 8mm movie camera. Those are very cool. Like Three said,
a reel pain ( get it ) to edit but it's film man, film.

My dad has a lot of vintage cameras. One of them includes an old windup Kodak 8mm film camera. The others included his his collection are the very old Brownie cameras from the 50s and 60s.

That's what makes it so sexy.

My grandparents documented a bunch of stuff back in the fifties on 8mm...I mean it was just my family (some of whom were sitting in the room with me) and it ttly creeped me the hell out.

To know that the scratches and abrasions on the film weren't rendered in during post-production provides an ambiance that today's digital wasteland will never have.

The camera that I linked to (mine) has 8mm rolls. So it's kinda hard to find film. I'd love to though, but I'd still try to do some tests before I try to film a movie. I'd probably use it for one of those "so-indy-that-it-wasn't-inteded-to-be-so-deep-but-came-out-to-be-anyways" films. Yup. It'll be the next Juno... but with scratches all over.

So a few days i managed to get my hands on an old Cine-Kodak 16mm film camera at an antique store. It was manufactured from 1936-1945. The case that the camera came in was from the next model up, which was basically the same camera except a few minor details. The case was manufactured 1945-1950.

SO the project is to get film and use this camera. I think it'll be a really cool looking film, even though it wouldn't be that long. You have to crank the metal arm then flip a switch for it to work. And with a good crank, it's maximum 1-2 minutes of shooting. I just can't find 16mm magazines.
