People in the forum have had ideas for Indy Mogul games, new shows and even websites so I think why not trying to make an Indy Mogul magazine. Erick, Justin, Steve what do you think is this a nice idea or it would take to much time to think of what is going to be in it and stuff? My ideas are every week a new Indy Mogul magazine will come up, it could include building plans for projects you have done, details about that weeks episodes (BFX, Weekend Extra, Q and Erik) and maby even have like posters of sceens of the shows, teasers from upcoming episodes and stuff like that.

There is MORE than enough content that is being produced to make a nice thick bi-annual magazine. With the best effects of the last 6 months in easy addition.

Something that could probably be printed out in limited runs based on demand, sounds like something Lulu.com could handle if there was real interest.

If anyone on the forums wants to head this up, you've got our blessing!

But online everything is much more simple! Free, easy to get to. Why over complicate it?

Still... a magazine would be pretty darn cool however I am in the UK so it might be harder to get. What sort of content did you have in mind for the thing I mean just reviewing the episodes doesn't make sense...

I think if you did a magazine it should be less about special effects and more about general indy film making advice...

If you DO make a magazine you're gonna have to make sure you dedicate time to it. But the problem is, dedicating time to the magazine will make you dedicate less time to the site.

Pretty much, if you want the magazine to be ANY good, then you have to put 'exclusive' content that you can't get on the site. BUT, by doing that you will have to work a LOT harder to keep the site the great quality it is. So either get a couple extra hours in a day, or just wait a little longer for the magazine.

Pretty much, I'd love a magazine and I know us forum members would subscribe. But, we do not want you to lose the viewers you need!

It would cost too much for everything. But if it was an online magzine it would be alot less stress. Have it be like 30, 40 pages. Once a month, then it could happen. You could have movie release dates, reviews, Indy Mogul cast bios, little effects, tips, interviews with Indy Mogul etc.

For something along the lines of Paperlilies (from Youtube) 56K magazine, it's relatively cheap to print... in the UK anyways... not 100% sure what the price ranges would be for elsewhere...

I think its less than 5 dollars per book for color, even cheaper for black and white.

Thats like regular magazine prices, and the fact that these would be nice big and thick, thats not too bad at all.

INDY MOGUL should team up with Channel Frederator, Thread banger, Jet Set and Pulp secret, and each should have their own section. It should be called INDIE IN A ZINE or somethin, ohh ya also team up with the makezine group

I like the idea but wouldn't it be easier to do like a monthly E-zine?

or would that just not be as good as a real smell and touch of an ink and paper magazine?

Just a way to extend the name recognition, attract audiences that wouldn't normally watch episodes on the internet.

Plus it gives easy reference for certain effects, without having to go to the computer.

Why not try to interview people who made awesome effects in it? like the maker of predator in alien vs. predator.

EDIT: Why not publish it with a disk! if people can't use interne than they can see the episode each month with their Mogulzine.

i think an e-zine would be a great idea. that way all mogul fans can read it, as we are from all corners of the world.

and as 3amigosproductions said, you could team up with Thread banger and such, do a step-by-step of certain things, like on the indy mogul blog. reviews of movies, and interviews would be good too, as well as perhaps you review a product each month? For example, say you 'reviewed' liquid latex, get the different brands and compare them, what is best for price, which is best for qualit etc.

ohh ya also team up with the makezine group

why...they already have a magazine....they had a magazine before a podcast!

all the other people you mentioned were NNN channels, there not affiliated with NNN and if there was an NNN magazine shouldn't it include the other channels!

But a combo magazine isn't a bad Idea!

People there must be a missunderstanding, I don't mean that actually me is going to make the magazine, is just an idea for the NNN and the Indy Mogul show.

It would be great if u did it... I think I would have to agree with the e-zine idea because of the fact of myself going to live at Japan next year.
(Plus I don't live in the U.S. either, I'm not from there)

Let Wes make it all by himself. He seems to like the idea. j/k
