Hey guys, first post, w00tness. I was looking through the videos when I came up with a question that doesn't seem to be answered. When all is said and done, shooting's wrapped and editing's finished, and you have a complete film on your hands, how do you premiere your film to the masses? Because it makes no sense to put all that time and work into your film and then just upload it to Youtube and forget about it. I've got a pretty good-sized project planned and I'm wondering how to premiere it when all is said and done.

Submit it to festivals for consideration, get attention for it, and make DVD copies to sell on the internet.
Keep on making your own films until you're happy with your portfolio, then you could possible send it directly to some of the smaller Direct to DVD production businesses and if they like it they'll buy the rights and you might see it in your local blockbuster.
And hopefully an executive in a bigger studio will see it, be impressed with what you were able to do with such a limited budget, and PERHAPS invite you in for a meeting.

Yeah, what Weselykins said. But for now, just make it and forget it. Then make another one.

Go on a tour and show your film to places that will except you like library's, colleges, theaters.
Advertise like hell around the areas you show it, then make more movies!
