Final Cut Express Help

Hey guys,

I have final cut express, and when I import footage, it seems to loose quality, for example movements become blurred and the whole footage seems to be jerky. I am using a 3CCD cam, and have imported footage into iMovie just to see if it had the same problem and it didnt.
Also, I am new to using the program, and when I use text, it is only clear in the canvas window, as soon as I enlarge the window the text becomes fuzzy, as if it is too zoomed in.

Hmm, how bizarre. Have you tried reinstalling?

I dont have the disc anymore! Its a legal copy, but I have no clue as to where the disc is.

It probably looks like that because it's decreasing the canvas quality to play back at realtime. Are you editing a large file?

it does it with all files... but they generally are a large file, imported then cut up in the timeline
