I was just curious as to whether or not anyone on the forum has watched the show Burn Notice on the USA network?
If you have what do you think of it? Personally I think it is one of the best shows on television and is highly entertaining.
Basically the show is about Michael who is a spy for the CIA played by Jeffery Donavan who was just recently burned (the CIA's way of firing a spy) and he is trying to find out who burned him. While working on finding out who burned him and why he, his best friend Sam played by the talented Bruce Campbell and Michal's ex girlfriend Fiona played by Gabrielle Anwar take on jobs helping people out.
For anyone interested it is on Thursday nights at 10 pm. The US open has taken Burn Notice's spot until September 11th reruns are shown Monday night at 11 pm eastern standard time eastern standard time.

My preferred USA network guilty pleasure is Psych, but I've been meaning to give this a chance.

I enjoy Burn Notice and also find it to be one of the better shows on television. I started watching it when it came out (mostly because Bruce Campbell was in it), but I found that I enjoyed the style and story enough that I've kept watching it consistently (and have yet to be disappointed).

My preferred USA network guilty pleasure is Psych, but I've been meaning to give this a chance.Psych is a bit too cheesy for me alot of the time. I'll watch it once in a while, but I often equate it to a wannabe Monk format (Awkward guy solves crimes with his seemingly amazing powers of perception - along with his quirky sidekick who keeps him grounded and from going to absurdity). I think the issue is just that I like Monk alot more than Psych and their structure is similar enough that I've just picked one.
The only show I can't stand to see on air right now is Smash Lab. I can't believe such a terrible (ripoff of Mythbusters) show which disregards the basics of scientific reasoning can stay on air for a second season. Unlike Psych, which also builds off of another series success with its similar qualities, Smash Lab has no redeaming qualities. This leads me to believe that the guys in Smash Lab are related to someone at the Discovery Channel (their qualifications seem lacking - I hardly believe they graduated college, as some are said to, let alone comprehend how to run their experiments).

I have just recently started to watch psych on a regular basis, I used to just watch it when I came across it flipping through channels. I love the show but the only thing that bothers me about it is the opening theme song...for some reason it gets on my nerves.

I like burn notice, it's much better than most stuff out there. I'm also giddy to hear that Chuck is coming back. Does anyone else like this show or is it just me?

I dunno, I don't really like Monk all that much. Psych just makes me happy.

I dunno, I don't really like Monk all that much. Psych just makes me happy.Monk got pretty formulaic after a while, so I lost the major interest to watch new episodes consistently. Psych, I find to be more of a time-to-kill or can't-sleep-clowns-will-eat-me type show. If it's on and I'm bored, I'll watch it and usually have a few chuckles, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see every new episode. It seems too aware of its own cheesiness.

Burn Notice rocks! It's one of the shows that mixes many genres together and does it well. Plus it reminds me a little of the old cop shows that sprung up in the late 70's into the 80's. I too started watching for Bruce Campbell.
And Gabrielle Anwar, she looked reallllyy skinny last season, this season she looks a little healthier.

I started to watch it just for Bruce Campbell, and I continue to watch it just for Bruce Campbell. It's a decent show, but I don't think I would still be watching it if it wasn't for Bruce.

I still would, but it definitely would not be the same. He doesn't "make" the show, but noone else could really do the character

this is my favorite show! When I was in the city one time right in front of F.A.O. swartz toy store, they had a Burn Notice Ice cream truck. It had the picture of Michael and Pheona on the beach and it gave out free ice cream with burn notice napkins. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah well I have met Bruce Campbell 3 times and he signed If Chins Could Kill, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way and My DVD set of Jack of All Trades.
Also the last time I met him he was screening My Name is Bruce in Toledo...That movie is awesome.
