I'm looking for a very good camera that produces high quality imagery, "the film look," and is a good camera as a whole. I've narrowed it down to the Panasonic AG DVX100B and the Canon HV30. Now I'm no HD freak, so I'm not going to jump on the Canon just because its HD, and price doesn't matter either. But I just want the better camera. Both image and complete quality. Thanks

HV30:

The HV30 as far as I can find has a SLIGHTLY SLIGHTLY larger sensor, and most of the stuff i've seen from it looks better (to me) than stuff shot on the DVX.
But really, I suggest checking out sample videos of each camera yourself, and coming to a decision on your own.
For the price of a DVX, you could buy a HV30, AND a 35mm adapter.

thank you, i believe i might go with the HV30 and then get a RNG35 35mm lens adapter. However, the only thing is that on the RNG35 product page, it says that the image is inverted (upside down and backwards) so I was just wondering how you would film with an inverted image.

the letus mini 35mm adapter is what i've decided on getting along with the hv30. However, I have now heard that you only get the adapter and that you need a lens. You can't just use the adapter itself? Where do I get a lens?

From any 35mm camera.

If you have access to a SLR camera like this, you can just pop the lens off and use it.
OR, you go to a place like Circuit city, and buy a lens, you can get one for between $150-1000 depending on quality and the type.
Also, any kind of Camera shop, or Best Buy also sells lenses. Or like I said you can just take one off of any SLR you own or have access to.
