I need a free, easy to use, download-able, 2-d animation system. Any ideas? I just want to make a few animations for youtube. You have to be able to play-back your animation system somhow. Just wondering. thanks.

All 3-d is to hard to actually work. I need a 2-D one for easy work and great outcome. =)

You could use GIMP, you can draw and I am pretty sure make GIF's and animations with it.

I've never used those.

All i can vouch for is "adobe flash", but it costs like $100.

But it is amazing and one of the few programs I could never get bored of useing.

If you got the money, or "know sumbody who knows sombody", then I would recommend it.

Animation regardless of type is a complete nightmare to work on. It's impossible for it to be "Easy" because even if your using the best equipment it can still make any lesser man insane!

Hey, didn't I recommend KoolMoves to you? It's a really simple 2D animation program, and it's only like $45. You should purchase it.

I used to use Pivot do do animation. Its stick figures but if you join the msn group there is a huge resource of figures people have made. Its super easy to use and you can make awesome animations with it. http://groups.msn.com/PivotAnimation

Project dogwaffle is another free one thats easy to use, but hard to get smooth looking animation.

I actually just downloaded a program called MonkeyJam. It's for scanned images, though, if that's what your looking for. It also should do stop motion.

If you do a google search for free anmation software you should come up with a couple of good results. Just look around until you find what's right for you.

Actually Adobe Flash is $700. But if you do already own a previous version you can upgrade for $200
