Have any of you guys ever had this virus? Any tips to make the virus stop?
So far this window (shown above) has popped up 5 times.
AND WHY DOES THIS KEEP ON POPPING UP?!?!http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w78/Nichwyto/Screenshot_2008-09-06_17-02-15.jpg

I don't think I qualify as an ass hole if I'm standing up for someone on the butt end of your irritating attitude.
Just because you said "just kidding" doesn't make it fine. If your mother died and I laughed my sorry ass off, then said "just kidding," you wouldn't be too happy.
If you're so worried about your silly maturity, maybe you should grow up and stop writing whatever pops into your head.

It's probably encoded itself WITHIN internet explorer. The warning might be trying to prevent you from opening explorer and setting the virus loose. Lemmie take a closer look at the image.
You've already obviously opened up your browser (as evident by the fact you're on Indy Mogul) so run a Google search and see what you come up with. I'm not an expert, but I know it's not fun.

why doesn't your virus protection have a heal or remove feature for virus

Seriously, BinBin, just format your harddrive. Transfer everything to another medium, and format.
It's the easiest way to make sure you get rid of everything. Sounds to me like you've also got a spyware problem.
And it's not like formatting your PC is a big deal. I had to do it four times in the course of my freshman year at college, because our network was just so open and filthy.
BinBinProductions
09-06-2008, 09:07 PM
Format my harddrive? break it down for a white man to understand.
next-tarantino
09-06-2008, 09:21 PM
That basically means you'll be erasing everything from your harddrive and restoring your PC to the way it was when you got it out of the box.
Take all the files/folders/etc. that are important to you, burn them to CD's or DVD's or transfer them to another harddrive, then format. To do that, you'll need the start-up disk (or something of that nature, depending on your PC), insert the disk, turn off your PC, then turn it back on and follow the instructions.
Vaughn Whynot
09-06-2008, 09:21 PM

Well, since Norton isn't cutting it, you'll end up uninstalling
everything when you reformat your hard drive.
And that is very unfun.

Get AVG anti-Virus 8. It's free, and has a browser shield which should stop that ad thing popping up whever you open up internet explorer. It can be turned off if it's conflicting with Norton too.
Personally I don't trust norton, as it's so well known, virus creators design the viruses/spyware to exist 'under the radar' of nortons detection parameters.

Binbin, if you just restore you PC back to factory settings, the virus may still be on there. I did that when I downloaded a virus from a jack sparrow type site, back when I used to do that. If the virus writes itself to your Win32 folder, I think it is, then it will look like a valid Windows file and remain on your drive. I had my friend reinstall Windows on my PC, and that took care of the problem. I used my external drive to save everything I wanted first though.

If you're hard wired to the internet, disconnect it, then try to open IE. I disconnected my PC from the internet, but was still able to open IE, but it would go to the page to try to sell Anti-virus programs, even though I wasn't connected. I doubt only your IE is affected by it.

unless the trojan installs something on your computer, dont reinstall windows. just get a better anti virus software. itd be a waste of time. ive reinstalled windows 4 times in a week. it wasnt fun, and half the time, i couldnt get the internet working, and the screen resolution was 800x600. which is crap. so all you have to do it get something that actually can find the trojan. i suggested panda, because when i got a trojan, i knew what file it was, and out of 3 anti virus softwares that i tried, its the only one that caught it. SO, just get a better anti virus software. ive heard bad things about norton lately. if you dont have the cd to install norton again, then i dont know what to tell you. if you legally own it, and can prove that you own it, just download it of the internet, or send in for a new cd.
end walltext.
