Here at Indy Mogul, you'll hear terms that may not make sense, if you're unprepared or new to filmmaking, here is a place for you to check through to learn some basics.

Indy Mogul - What does it mean? Indy Mogul is the name of the site, and it sure sounds cool, but not everyone might know exactly what the two words mean combined. Well Indy stands for Independent as in an Indie Filmmaker or someone who makes films on their own, representing their own vision, usually working with a small group of their friends to make films that mean something important to them. And Mogul, someone who dominates in a field, and strives to be the best and biggest. Combined Indy Mogul is here to teach you how to be the absolute best Independent Filmmaker you can be, it will teach you how to be the King of Independent Filmmaking, and how to control and represent your vision, and work beyond budget constraints. We show you how to do things cheaply and more important how to keep things fun, so the only thing holding you back is your own will and your own creativity.

Moguler - Mogulers are all of the citizens of Mogulville, all of the people who've joined the forums and regularly contribute helping the community, helping others grow, while at the same time learning and striving to become a better filmmaker themselves. Moguler's come from all over the world, from all walks of life, and we're United together by our love of filmmaking, and our desire to learn and grow together.

Mogulville - Mogulville is the Indy Mogul forums, like a city, it's a community of Moguler's who work together, offer advice, and assistance to others, and a place to show off your own work.

I'm assuming we are allowed to add a few

CCD - Charged Coupled Device, This is the sensor inside of a digital video camera that allows it to capture the photons of light and translate them into a video signal. A camera with only 1 CCD uses that 1 chip to capture Red, Blue and Green. A 3 CCD camera uses 1 chip for Red, 1 for Blue, and 1 for Green. This results in higher quality of video.

HD - HD stands for high definition. It is measured by the ammount of lines of pixels up and across a screen. True HD is 1920 x 1080. Those number represent how many lines are are across and up a screen.

Mini DV - This is a type of recording system. "Head" in your camera magnetically write information (ie. the video you are shooting) onto tapes that can be read by the camera and imported or recorded over.

HDD - Hard Disk Drive, this is another type of recording format. This is the process of saving your video to a Hard Drive. Like the one in your computer.

I'll put out a few more later.

your comments are probably gone for a few reason, they where pointless, or the subject was deleted
and people have lives outside of the forum
so comments sometimes get scarce
so chill man...chill
