View Full Version : God just saved my HV20.

I tragic incident just happened.


I wanted to go out and film some nature with my steadicam. But..i couldn't find the quick release plate. So, i settled with my spare. It was a little loose but i taped it down. I put my camera on. and headed outside. Just as I was walking out, the plate came loose and the camera fell....







It landed on it's lens hood. It was a gift from God. The lens hood is a little cracked, but my camera is fine! How lucky is that. Now. I'm going to go find that original quick release plate. Thank GOD!!!!!!:D

no. turns out that the shock transferred to the camera and got the lens off the focus track.

Maybe it's a sign that you should re-think some of your first tutorials. Your camera suffered from a professionally manufactured tripod head that came loose and fell. Yet, you're putting up tutorials telling people to trust their cameras to bungee cords, coat hangers, TWISTIE-TIES, styrofoam, and duct tape?

It sucks that happened to your camera and I hope the damage and repair costs are minimal, but you should really take it as a lesson that video cameras need the most secure handling possible and that you just don't know what could happen.
