View Full Version : Board/Sub-Board Suggestion: Regional
I think there should be a Regional Board with Sub-boards for Midwest, Southeast, Southwest, Northeast and Northwest areas. This way instead of cramming everything into one thread, people can look and develop connections within their actual "regions."

Don't forget there are non-US members on here, too...

and also don't forget that although the UK is small its still big enough to make a 'UK' section pretty useless in terms of finding people close enough to connect with.
as are most countries.
although it does seem Americans have no concept of long journeys. Ive seen people on here talk about 8/9 hour drives as though its a 5 minute walk.

Yeah - I know that, UK wise, there's quite a bunch in the North who are quite active on the boards.

It will call for a helluva lot of sub forums to satisfy all the members.
Not to mention leave me virtually alone :'(

Was thinking that myself... Just tried to divide the UK up into regions that could work...
...or we could do what the BBC does and have two regions, London and The Rest of the Known Universe
EDIT
London coming out slightly larger, naturally... ;)

If there were forums by country, couldn't people just make threads for more specific areas?

Isn't the point of a forum is that you can interact with people all over the world? Why separate everyone?

The regional forums would only be for finding people to work with for real. I'm sure everything else will still be connected. :)

I really don't see the point in having tons of different boards just for people to find other people.

Exactly, I thought I was the only poster from Kentucky on this forum until someone PM'd me the other day. It'd be nice to have a subforum where I can throw up "Kentucky Area" and people from this area can chat with one another within the "regional" forums and not spam up the rest of the boards. As for the other regions, well. Yeah one could organize it to all hell and back, but I would simply be a US only region, and then a subforum for the major "foreign" regions seperately until a need for expansion would be needed, simply because the majority of the posters are American on this board.
As for a need, Pad. It's like Wes's thread from earlier, it's a means to more easily find people to work with in real life. It makes perfect sense.
