What do you think about it so far?

Obama seems to be dominating right now, but McCain is also bringing up some good points.

I'm personally for McCain. :)

Everyone is just going to mirror what they posted in the McCain/Obama DISCUSS thread. If you are for Obama, you will think Obama won, and the same for McCain.

On that note...I say McCain won :)

McCain seemed to relate a lot of things to the military, like when he related the failing economy to Eisenhower writing a success letter and a failure letter about the invasion of Normandy.

But he still did a good job.

From what I saw, (I was watching the beginning), McCain seemed to be doing a better job. I didn't see the rest though.

I don't know. McCain really didn't do well, to be honest. He never made eye contact with Obama, and as they say, body language is 90% of what we say. There were a few things he did well on, but for the most part it was Obama who railed him. Remember the bracelet battle? That was poetic.

John McCain mentions a bracelet given to him by the mother of a fallen soldier. He quoted her as saying, "Don't let my son die in vain." A very political move to win people's hearts.

And what was Obama's response? He revealed that he too had a bracelet...and was actually wearing it. His too was from a mother of a fallen soldier. Except she said, "Please don't let another mother suffer what I have suffered". He proceeded to say (paraphrased) that no American soldier dies in vain, whether we win or lose. Because they are serving their country and their leader. But I question the judgement of our current leader, and you John, who supports Bush and the war in Iraq.

Also, in the future debates I'm going to count how many Reagan references McCain slips in.

Haha.

I smell a drinking game coming on.

And that's all it is folks: Entertainment. Leader's 'debates' have always bullshit. Bullshit and canned responses. Make you feel good, go home and convince yourself that your guy 'won' (whatever 'won' means) - though, of course, you already know that before any of them spoke a word.
