I'm going to be heading over to Valdosta tomorrow, doing a little bit of transporting of a family member. When she is busy, I plan on going to Best Buy to buy a 500GB SATA Hard Drive, since they're advertising it for almost $95. I also discovered that this week, Best Buy has Sony Acid Music Studio 7 and Vegas Movie Studio, both at $39.99 each.

Now, I myself have Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video 3, almost the last program made by Sonic Foundry before Sony bought Vegas. I definately find it an easy program to work with and I partically use it for nearly all of my video editing. I don't know much about the Sony Vegas Studio, though I know the interface itself is the same. For anyone who has worked with the Sonic Foundy Vegas Video editing software and any of Sony's versions, is Vegas Movie Studio 9 worth the money? Or should I remain using Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video 3 and save $39 dollars?

I think Vegas 9 is worth the $39. I saw that advertisement too, but I have Vegas 8, so I don't think I'm going to upgrade just yet.

Vegas for $40? Go for it.

Well, I went to Valdosta, tried to get the program, but it wasn't on the shelf. When I asked one of the sales reps about it, he explained that Valdosta's store was actually the smallest Best Buy store out of all the others. And as a result, some things that the bigger store has the one in Valdosta wouldn't (for example, the Valdosta store doesn't carry washers and driers). Of course, this made somewhat sense but not all the way, due to the fact that they had Sony ACID Music Studio on their shelves. However, the rep I talked with told me I could still order it online at the same price. So, I've decided to go ahead for it over the net.
