they might accept you. Are you applying to a vocational school? Cause when i applied, the specifications were similar to those, but i know people who got in with lower scores than required.

What place do you live that has such stringent requirements just to enter High School?

I mean, are these PRIVATE High Schools because then is makes sense..

i am looking at public high schools

Dude, you realize that public high schools are only available to students that live within the boundary lines for that school, right?

I have never, ever heard of someone applying to a public high school.

I think High Schools have to take students. Unless it's a Private School, I don't know why there are certain grades you have to maintain. Or if it's an academy, then I can understand (like the IB program that I'm in, for the High School you need at least a B average.) But that's a specific program. And with all your grades meeting the requirements but just 1 point off, I'm sure they'll accept you.

When did you apply to high school?

I didn't.

I'm currently at my second high school. (I moved) My mom just made an appointment with my counselor and I picked my classes.

When I was going to be a freshman, I just registered at my middle school.

I don't know who you heard that you had to apply for a public high school but they are completely ignorant.

U gotta apply to high schools? Thats strange. Here we just pick if we want to go to High or Tech, then pick our classes.
PS: If its a tech school then yah, you do need a certain grade level, and high unified arts scores to get in.

im mad jealous, here in ny, we have to pick out of the few schools and compete with the other people in ny

its crazy, and if you don't have the requirements, you are on the bottom of the list. And all those people in the top list need to fight for a spot in the school.

I'm just going to tell you this now, don't worry about what high school you get into to. That doesn't matter. Just worry about the college you get into. That does matter.

I understand that

But....

Those colleges want a well rounded and educated student. If i do not get into the high school that i think will educate me then......
Watever

But i get your point

J Public education in the US is bad, but it's not THAT bad...

i actually disagree with that statement

There are some amazing public high schools in the US, specifically my area, new york.

Stuyvesant (Didn't spell that right)

Bronx High School For Science

Laguardia High school for performing arts

Frank Sinatra
