Today, after school I stopped by the library to check out a few things. I noticed three rolling racks filled with books... as I moved closer there was a sign that read "BOOKS FOR SALE - Hardcovers - 20 cents or 6 for $1 - Paperbacks 10 cents or 12 for $1".
I was like "BAJOINKS!? Are they serious!??" I was ecstatic so I picked up a couple that seemed interesting. All hardcovers I got Scott Smith's The Ruins (which the movie was based on), Nicholson *something*'s Checkpoint, Brian Brown's TV and Jeff Noon's Vurt.
They've all received lots of praise but, being a movie fan, I had to read The Ruins first, so I just started reading it... It's pretty good, I must say. Stephen King praised the Hell out of it, too, which gives me confidence in it.
Anyway, just thought I'd share this little triumph with the Indy Mogul community. Comment and let me know what you think about any of the above statements or whatever...
