I got a chance to interview Rian Johnson, i'm really happy with how it came out, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

But check it out, i've got the trailer for "The Brothers Bloom" up there, he talks about working on this and Brick a little bit, AND if you fast-forward to the end of the interview, you get the chance to see a film he completed in 1990 when he was only 17.

I actually have not had the pleasure of watching "Brick" yet. I'll have to check it out next time I go to the store

I just watched the trailer for "Brick." It looks very cool. It's very interesting, how they turned a noir mystery, into a serious detective drama, and be able to cast teens. I love storys that apply to adolesents. For me, the barrier between a kid movie, and a serious drama with kids, is finally being broken (Although I hardly regard them as "Kids")

It's a really interesting film, a really good indie film, and it should really be an inspiration, that a relatively normal guy, that can go from making films of him and his friends messing around in his backyard (watch "Origami Master" at the end of the interview), to making such a great looking film for such a small budget (to be fair, 500K+ is nothing to scoff at, but as far as an indie film is concerned that looks as good as Brick does, it's VERY low, not Mariachi low, but hey.) should be an inspiration to everybody.

Not to mention that he is willing to take time out of his schedule and offer some of his insight to us after he's made a 20 Million dollar movie starring two Academy Award winners.

Really nice guy, can't wait to see the new movie.

I thought it was great that you landed an interview with him, but you definitely could have asked better questions.

Did you send him all the questions at once, or was it done on the phone, or what?

What other questions would you have liked me to ask?

And I asked all at once, if I had asked them in order and gotten responses in order, I would have changed them up a little in reaction to some of his answers.

This was fan-fucking-tastic! I saw Brick a couple months ago and loved it. Great job Wes!

It seemed like any of the first 5 questions could have been opening questions; I just thought it flowed really strangely. Obviously you would have adapted questions based on whatever response you got, but I mean, if you gave him all the questions at once, and he gave you all the answers at once, there really isn't much to be done about it.

But any suggestions you can make about what kind of questions you'd like to hear, please tell me.

If it was up to me, I would ask almost totally technical based questions, but I know you guys want to hear more than that, so whatever you guys want to hear, i'll try to adjust my questions in the future to give you what you want to hear.

Well if you still can, I would really, REALLY, like to know how he did that shot where the camera rotates with the fan blades. That was great.

Also just anything about his methods for writing, how does he form his ideas, develop them, how does he write, does he do a certain number of pages per day, is there any weird writerly things about him, just stuff on the process of it really.
