I see a paradox here. You spell out "hate" in the title like a normal person but revert back to internet retard the thread.

I happen to like the itouch because of all the apps you can get for it. Same for the iphone. I don't like the keyboard that much on either though.

I love my iPhone simply because of how much it can do. The problems I have are, no copy and paste, and the predictive text feature can take a while to get used to.

What mothly charges Vaughn? I don't get monthly charges.

I assume you're referring to the iPhone, Vaughn Whynot, as there's no sensible reason why a company would charge monthly for the iPod Touch.

personally, i have an htc touch which is basically an iphone minus the apps but plus microsoft so i really dont care for an iphone.

The topic is about both the iPhone and iPod Touch, hence the confusion.

No you can just ask for the phone without the Data Plan. They'll give it to you.

I cannot justify spending £1000 on a mobile phone no matter how many shiney things are nailed to it.

I LOVE my ipod touch its expensive and has way to many features if all you want is your music but it's shinny!!! Oh soo shinny.

Iphone? Boring. So many different companies make phones just like it or more powerful. It was fresh and shiny and new when it came out, but now it's just another phone among the masses.

Itouch? Iphone without telephone. With all these features on these newer phones, you don't need an Itouch.

But if you get the Iphone. You can get any regular plan from any provider. It's just like any regular phone.

I've not tried any of the phones that appeared after the iPhone, but I feel no need to. I bought an 8GB iPhone around about when they first became available in the UK, so this time last year.

It was expensive, certainly, but I have no regrets.

It stores all the music I'd like to carry with me - I have masses of music, but if I carry it all with me I end up skipping songs about 80% of the time, so 8GB is ideal. Its web browser is a bit unstable but otherwise excellent, I frequently use Google Maps to find my way to places around Edinburgh, I use the camera to take quick snapshots, I like the SMS setup it uses and I use the odd app here and there when I want or need to.

There's three points I can fault it on - the speaker is rather puny compared to the 3G variant.
EDGE coverage is sloppy at best (it seems such a daft chose in the UK at least, as 3G coverage is usually pretty good in my experience, I'd never even heard of EDGE, this old technology Apple had decided to use..).
The battery life isn't as good as I'd like (I charge my phone every day or every other day).

I think having the internet anywhere you go can be useful, but so far it's mostly seemed isolating to me. It does seem like it's got a really good camera on it, and I know it much be really helpful for buisnesspeople (my dad pretty much runs his company out of his blackberry).

When visiting my boyfriends parents for dinner, his brother was just dicking around with his iphone at the table the ENTIRE TIME. Not talking to anyone in real life, just online. That is stupid and sad. The funny thing is, he still managed to act like he was better than everyone for having an iphone.

A friend did the same when he got a new blackberry. I went out for coffee with him and he was IMing the entire time, occasionally actually talking to me to show me the amaaaazing gps function. "See that little triangle? That's where we are!" For fuck sakes I know where we are and I don't need a phone to tell me!

I think my opinion of internetting phones really depends on who owns it. When people can't take their eyes off the fucking screen for ten seconds to see the world around them or interact with a REAL HUMAN in a way other than showing off their shit, then I hate it.

Personally, I'd never get something like that because I have no need for it, and that's a LOT of money for something I don't need. I'm content with my little $20-with-the-contract phone. :p lol

Woah...Who the hell is charging £1000 for it?!?

Vaughn: I see now... that really blows!

Flamekebab just reminded me...the battery life isn't great on it but mine is on charge whenever I'm in the house so its no big deal

Kaygee

You can only get it on contract and theres only one company that offers it. In addition you can only cancel your contract after 12 months. After the cost of the phone and a year of bills, it costs at least £1000.

You live in the UK....you can buy it on pay as you go. The only lock is that you have to use O2, and at that there are ways around that lock.

Because people call it an iTouch.

Me and a friend use his iPod touch and run it through effects pedals, and stuffs to make it sound cool all the time. It's a lot of fun, with applications like Bloom. Touch screens and music go so well together. I like putting it through a kaoss pad.

I just had a great Idea for an app.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!

It would be an app that is the standard repository for all knowledge and wisdom. The front cover would say the famous words: "Don't Panic"

We should develop it! I've already wrote the article on Earth. You want to do Alpha Centauri?

In all seriousness, that would be the best app ever. It needs to be made.
