So , earlier today just like any teenage american boy i gladly got on to my xbox and started to play Call of Duty 4 online. i played a couple of matches and was doing pretty good , having a good time this guy that sounded like in his late teens started talking to me. Earlier on i got a compliment from a random guy who liked how i talked tactics and didn't just swear over the headset... this was a more unlikely situation. So this older man and his younger sounding friend start also complimenting me on ho i have "Great Teamwork". They go on to acting like a yes man saying strong compliments every time i got a kill or we won a match. They asked if i wanted to join their clan so i said sure so we went to tryouts. Tryouts was just running around a small map taking both of the leaders on one on one then a free for all. We just did it in a nice manner having a good time then he started asking little questions that didn't seem like much.
"So , what state do you live in?"
How old are you?"
"What type of games do you like?"
These questions seemed fine across gamers (Most of it's in my profile already). They responded with what their opinions where on the question. They had a real questioning voice like when they told me not to "Camp" i went in to a small place to reload. "Flaming Brick are you camping?" He said. "No, i was reloading" i replied. "Well Flaming i didn't see you reload and we have a strict no camping policy" he said. OK , i thought maybe he is just strict. So after that i got inducted and when they asked what i wanted to practice on they always said "Yeah Flaming that sound great!" (I thought he say "Who da man?" next). After we started the match they would start asking more questions that i thought we're pretty weird.
"Do you like sports? Which one do you like the best?"
"Do you like books?"
"Are you a cowboys fan?"
"How many friends do you have?"
"What are your interests?"
It started to feel more like a interrogation than a friendly get together. When i asked why they keep asking me questions they always said "Well , in the XVZ clan we like to think of everyone as a family so we like to know each other.". So i told him that i had to go due to dinner. "WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SEND ME A MESSAGE EARLIER SAYING YOU WHERE LEAVING?" he asked in a vulgar manor. So i left after some discussion and went to dinner. When i got home they invited me to play another match so i joined and turns out they practiced the whole time i was gone and wanted me to join in.
"So Flaming Brick , where did you go?"
"Where did you go for dinner?"
"What did you have?"
He All asked so after hearing the family story again i said.
"Where do you stand on team focus?"
He quickly asked what i meant and i replied by saying.
"Well , you keep trying to make conversation when i think we need to focus on our practice."
He just paused and told everyone to say "ouch" when they get shot "Tango down" when you get a kill and "man down" when someone dies. So after sounding like a fool and everyone laughing slightly in the background i said it or they complained. After that i feared that our next "practice" would be me describing my sexual organs and my home location so i removed all the "Clan Members" from my friends list and changed my COD4 clan tag back to blank. My question is , do you think they where trying to harass the first pick of kids they could get or they where sexual criminals who wanted to
go Michael Jackson on me or just a group of geeks who want to play "COD-4 man!"?
