Yea, I picked one up at K-mart for 6 bucks (originally $25) with fluid like the day after halloween! It's obviously not the best, but it was 75 percent off, so it was mad cheap.

It might be too late to score them, or find them at all, but check your local stores like CVS or K-Mart.

Most fog machines are good enough. A majority of quality fog comes from the "fog juice" you use to make it. Here's a link to a great way to make the fog alot better.

Hope that helps!

You missed it, but the absolute best time to buy fog machines is right after Halloween. Don't go to walmart or kmart, they have pretty crappy ones and they still charge way too much. Just buy your fog juice at walmart; quart bottles 50% off.
Get your fog machine at party city or something. AWSOME fog machines, different types and models all 50% off. I got mine for $15, tested it, and smoked out the house. Oops.

My associates and I have done several dark attractions. (haunted houses)

We believe it's better to have several smaller (i.e. cheaper) foggers rather than purchasing a single large fog machine. we can place them more strategically, and end up with better results.

The $25-$30 fog machines will work just fine.

An earlier poster was correct in that you should purchase premium quality fog juice from companies like Chauvet.

Buy a cheap cooler and cut a hole in the side. using marine sealing stuff cut a piece wood and seal it in the cooler halfway. Place water in the side without the hole and throw a chuck of dry ice in the water and close the lid. Bam.

Yeah, I went out and bought 2 at halloween with lots of fluid. Only $10 a piece!! And the fluid was about $2.50 a bottle.
Oh, and I got a lighting generator for $10 too...
