i have a pirated version of sony vegas.

the only editing software that you should actually pay for is avid and now final cut pro.

the end.

"Try before you buy" piracy may get you some free training time, but most programs have free trials, and you're going to have to buy the software if you want to do legit work.

some free training time? what the hell are you talking about??

I have a full copy of sony vegas 6.0. it's not a trial, if I wanted to do some "legit work" I could just do it on that. It's not like it's limited in doing anything that any real copy of Vegas 6.0 could do.

However, if anyone plans on getting any jobs in post production, you really need to focus your craft on AVID, and (the more recent contender) Final Cut Pro. Those being the two industry standards. For these programs are the only "legit" editing softwares. Everything else is moot...yeah sure it's good to learn any type of software, but those two are the best and the ones people in "The Biz" look at as respectable programs.

Yes, quote the bible. That'll show me.

I understand that you're religious, that's cool. I'd never mock anyone's religion. That's just wrong...unless it's Scientology, that's just incorrect.

I believe in God as well, so it's pointless to thump that bible at me sir. So I ask you, to spare others your bible ranting.

otherwise known as Edward Lavender, if you google that name you can find me anywhere!

Really, then stop quoting something you don't know anything about. If your not religious then it's illogical to quote the bible.

The available evidence is that you've been quoting the bible. and preaching to me that stealing is wrong. I would never steal anything that would hurt anybody. I paid for an awesome editing software and got swindled when Dell sold me this computer. Does it work with Avid? "Oh yeah sure it does."

I refuse to pay for something when I can't afford to lose money.

I just don't like you sir. You are a troll.

Your right, I shouldn't have said you don't know anything about the bible. But if it's something you don't believe in, then really, you should stop quoting it.

Trolls aren't always wrong, sometimes they just post nonsense or things that will try and invoke a stupid argument.

People wanted to know what software, was the best that was cheapest. I told them. It's not my fault that it's pirated. It's the truth. It may be wrong but if you don't have the cash and want to learn something of decent quality..you just have to borrow it.

And I ask you, who will care what kind of software I use whether it be pirated or not, if my work is good. and if you get a post production job where your working on a movie for a studio, you won't even be using your own software. you will be using their software.

And I would NEVER EVER EVER use Sony Vegas to produce a legitimate piece of work, not because its pirated software, but because it's not the industry standard piece of software you should be using for legitimate work. And when I say legitimate, I only mean something like a feature for a film festival or to show those "power brokers" you like to bring up.

Those two pieces of software that should be used for legitimate work are Avid and/or Final Cut Pro.

Ok, pirated software is nothing to discuss here. But Mr. Lavender is not a fool and your irrelevant posts, quotes, and links are deviating this thread, takopunch. So, I'm going to close it. But please, refrain from all of this, it's pointless. If you don't agree with someone's philosophy, oh well. Please don't carry on. And no more discussion of pirated software on this forum.
