Long Time No See (official "I'm Back" thread)

I figured I'd put this in the Welcome Lobby since I'm sort of re-introducing myself. It's been close to 9 months since I last visited these forums. I had been a very active member (top 3 poster) but some personal and work issues forced me away from here for some time. I truly did miss the interactions of all the members of Mogulville in my absence.


It seems a lot has gone on since I was last here. Weekend Extra disappeared, 4 Minute Film School showed up, 3-D Glasses were given away, a president was elected, some Forum members were elevated to Mod status, and the wheel finally landed on Trip-2-New Jersey. As you can see, I've been keeping up with the shows on my iPod(subscribe if you haven't already). It's great to see that this place is still going strong.


I just finished watching the premiere of The Best Short Films In The World(Nice job Bobby) and the teaser for the new season of BFX. Erik mentioned Mogulween and I remembered how much fun we had last year. I figured this was the perfect time for me to return to my Indy Mogul family. And on quite an eerie note, I checked my account and noticed this also happens to be exactly one year to the day that I originally joined the forums.


To the older members, I cant wait to hear from you guys again. To all the newer members, I look forward to meeting you.

i got my shit together and am not as stressed as before
the reason i left was because i was just was being to lazy
and it was causing so much stress
my blood pressure was 150/97
it was not good
so i know we all hate those "i going away because of such and such"
but i going for good
not because of any reason
just that i on here way to long and i must understand sometime siting on a computer being a zombie to indy mogul forum is just alittle ridiculous
so i am moving on
i am not done with film-making
i just done with the forum
i gained tons of knowledge from you guys
and plan on using it
but with how my bills and medical stuff has been going on
i won't have time
i go in to the hospital for 30 days next month
then 2 weeks later to get my knees fixed
so today i resign from Indy mogul

I've chosen go get my experience through internships instead of makeup school (mainly for financial reasons) but the one thing I hear about the work that comes out of makeup schools is that most student work looks the same because of the nature of the assignments... I'm sure you'll be getting assignments like "make a zombie" so it's up to you to take the initiative to create a zombie the likes of which nobody's ever seen. Make it your zombie and people will remember you. Combine that with all the technical knowledge you'll be gaining, and you'll come out with an amazing portfolio.

Hello again if anyone remembers me. I was on last year until summer hit and i went to camp. After being away so long i just didn't get back into it. then things came up and a didn't have any free time at all for a wile. I'm preparing for my barmitzva in 2 weeks so i still might not be that active but I'm finding time and basically joining the forums again. If anyone remembers me please post so i can see if your still on and if you sent me any messages i didn't reply to i apologize. I hope to see some of my old friends are still on and well basically i just wanted to tell you I'm not dead (when i do you can all come to my funeral. No just kidding but maybe, but probably not).

Well, I can't talk about it right now because I may end up having to do something legal about it, but I'm no longer associated with my Fire Dept. Most likely I'll be returning, but after some things that went down, and the 10 day vacation I had to take, I just feel like I need to hang it up for a while.

I've been sick, in a hospital for a while, I won't discuss what happened or why, but it was bad. Now, I'm better. So, anything new?

Can't get my old account to work, so since I've moved and graduated I figured I wouldn't be breaking the spirit of the rules to just pretend I'm a responsible adult now.

So, I've recently graduated with a BFA in Media Art and Animation. For my first trick... er, I mean job, I managed to get on an independent film project as the storyboard artist, and doing miscellaneous jobs.

One thing I've learned is that no school means more time for forums! The other think I've learned is "miscellaneous jobs" means being the new Executive Producer. Needles to say, expect to see me around.

None of you probably remember me.

I'm one of the older fans of the show. I was around from that first year when it was getting off the ground. I was watching when Backyard Effects (BFX) was literally in Erik's dad's backyard, and followed the show for quite a while after.

Anyway, I haven't watched for quite some time, but I've checked in every once in a while through my youtube subscription, and have been proud of the show's growth. Anyway, when I heard Erik was finally doing a feature length film, I just had to come back to the fandom to show my support for Father Son Run (and I plan to donate some coin to the project as soon as I can spare some cash). Go Erik!!

I'm ready to spend the next few weeks archive binging to catch up on the shows. :P


EDIT: Also, part of the reason I left was because even though I enjoyed the show, I never made any of the builds or anything because I didn't do film, I was just watching for entertainment/to learn something fun. But now that I've decided I do want to do film, I've decided indymogul is a good place to start learning how to do it on the cheap.
