Hey, what if I want to film a shot, say at a news desk, and want to put wireless lapel mics on each actor. Is there an easy (and cheap) way for me to mix the audio going into my DV camera?

If it's a cheap DV camera, I don't know. I would suggest connecting the lapel mic to a separate Digital Audio Recorder, then synch it up in editing.

Although, some cameras have different recording options, I think, my cheap DV camera, can record both 12 Bit sound, and 16 bit, if you record 12 bit sound, it'll have an open sound channel that you can add stuff to later.
I don't know if a external mic could be utilized if your camera doesn't have a mic port, but I know that I would just use a clap board (or just clap), and resynch the sound together in post-production.
