Anyone hobbyists into the wide world of Miniatures?
I am a huge Games Workshop (http://www.gamesworkshop.com/) fan. Being one has allowed me to explore the world of modeling, sculpture, painting, etc.
I think this sort of hobby would transfer over to Indy Mogul since practicing it will get you a lot of experience in creating fake world objects. For example, creating styrofoam buildings, rocks, trees, fences, or crates. Learning to create a 2" tall rock made from styrofoam or another substance (that LOOKS like a real rock!) is transferable to creating larger scale representations for movie sets.

No I diddnt make that. But ya get the ideer...
Environment/scene design and setup begins with making small scale models. Anyone into crafting materials for film scenes might dig Miniatures hobbyist websites or other related social networking apps.
Personal favorite of mine is White Dwarf Magazine (http://uk.games-workshop.com/whitedwarf/). Great resource with full color high res imagery of a premium selection of user submitted works, as well as professional. Always loaded with crafty and creative tips.
Black Gobbo (http://us.games-workshop.com/e-zine/issues/blackgobbo-99/default.htm) is another good site.
