I know this forum has had a million discussions about this topic, but I just got my Christmas money so now I can go shopping.
Please tell me what the best video editing software is I can get for less than $150 that does chroma key green screen effects for pc, not mac.
Thanks.

That's as good as you'll find under $150 (the set usually goes for much more, but B&H offers the disc only version of the program for much less). You'll still have to find a DVD authoring program separately though - but those can be found fairly easily.

That is a great deal. And believe me, you don't need the
DVD Architect program. At least not at that price.
Good find elscotto.

i am using 8.0 pro
i like it because when i was using window movie making
i had to remember to add fade in and fade out effects
but with vegas all you do it move lines and the fade is done
and you can create short or long fade ins/outs
but there are ton of other features that are easier to figure out

Pinnacle Studio is pretty good, but its just about all you can get for under $150, otherwise, your looking at stuff that is pretty expensive.

I have downloaded the trial versions of corel and sony.
What I really am looking for is the ability to do a scene, where two people are talking and take the audio from one clip and put it under the other clip so it looks like they are talking. I can do that in Windows movie maker I found out. If WMM had chroma key I wouldn't try to buy anything else.
Maybe I should just stick with WMM.

Go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2anUixfIjY It will teach you how to do a chroma key with windows movie maker. With a little downloads, you can really push the limits of WMM.
(edit) You can also go to Detonation films, they give you tutorials on how to import their effects in WMM also.

Corel is in the lead. So far it is simple to use.

Really, all you need is good compositing software. Sony Vegas Movie Studio can handle that easily. I mean, WMM really has everything you need for editing. I've heard good things about Adobe Premiere Pro (it is expensive though) Try pinnacle studio.

sony has unlimited channels so you could have as many people talking at once
and yes you can chorma key with wmm but it does get hard because it only deals with 1 shade of green
and you can't change it

How about Adobe Premiere? That can do chromakey, and effects. If you can't afford that, try Adobe Premiere Elements. I use Sony Vegas, and I'm fine with that.

Hey there.
This isn't worth a full thread so i'll slap it onto this one.
I have adobe premiere elements 2.0 and am trying to do
steve nelson's cloning effect from weekend extra. However, I cannot
seem to find the crop tool...will anybody help me out or tell me an alternative
way to achieve this?
