What did you find unhelpful about it?
I think Schrab mostly found pre-existing toy puppets and modified them.

yeah what he said and i don't really have that many supplies or the budget to go out and buy supplies (because i splurged on the actual programs i needed) so i was wondering if anyone had any good (cheap) alternatives.

I made my puppet out of an old cake box we were throwing out and some cardboard. Go through your bin and see what you can find.
Cardboard, hot glue, sharpies. Kind of the whole point is you use whatever you can get. Old socks. Paper bags. Coat hanger wire is good for lots of things. I've made a couple creepy heads out of paper mache. And are you just ruling out modding toys for cost reasons? Because I've found pretty cheap toys in second-hand shops.

He used trash. It's after Christmas, you should have a pile of cardboard boxes in your house the size of a small mountain, cut them up, use them.
Hot glue doesn't cost a lot, you can get a glue gun for like 3 dollars, and 2 dozen glue sticks for another 3 dollars.
It's not a major investment.

I made a Drawless animation puppet. I made it out of cardboard, a cookie tin, a scarf, a sock, hot glue, and some string.
All you need is junk, something to hold it together, and some imagination
