Hey guys, just an announcement for something I came across. Netflix and Film Independent are offering one young filmmaker the chance to make their own film, and it's something that I definitely would interest a lot of you guys and gals.
For first place, they are offering a $350,000 grant to make your film, and a promise to distribute it. This is a big chance for the winner, and I hope some of the Mogulers here send in applications.
Entries end Feb. 9th, so hurry up! Thankfully you aren't required to send in a shortfilm or anything, you just have to apply for it, and show off your crew and tell them your idea.

Too bad it's only open to the states...
Ah well good luck to those who enter! What an opportunity!

Get an American to be a Producer. Get a friend who is an American to submit the project, and have him add you to the crew.
Check the rules, it shouldn't be forbidden.

You have to be 18 to enter, that pretty much rules out most everyone on this forum :(

Get a parent to enter for you

Right, get a parent or older brother/cousin to be your partner on the project.

Damn, if I finish my major screenplay I've been working on for over a year, I could do this. I've got 80 pages done but still need to do several drafts. I think I can do this.

I say work on it as much as you can over the next month, put together a crew and send in your application.

Yeah, I don't have a script that I'm fully comfortable with yet, plus I'm focusing on film school application right now.
