I got a cannon fs100 about a month ago, now i feel like making stop-motion.

I want to start out easy with a cheap webcam.

Whats the best stopmotion webcam UNDER 40$ ?

your fs100 would be the best. i use my hv20 for mine.

The only real advantage of using a webcam for stop motion is the ability to incorporate the webcam into Lego frames that will allow for steady control of the cam if you are doing Brick Films. Other than that I would strongly suggest you use the Cannon.

Also, if you are looking to do any kind of stop mption I would suggest going to animateclay.com and sztopmotionmagic.com. Animateclay also has a youtube channel for their Zombie Pirates movie which is fantastic.

If you are into brick flms, check out Brickfilms.com.

For frame capture software, I would suggest Animator DV Simple. It is free and allows for 5 frames of onion skinning which is great for simple projects.

Also check out papgayo. This is a great free tool for stop motion as it allows you to type in a dope sheet and it will show you the mouth motions needed to make a stop motion figure speak those words.
