Just finished with the first shoot for this student film and it looks like there will be many nights spent in the freezing cold. I'm running 4 channels into my Pro Tools session. Nothing dropped out until we tore down and moved to a new location and for some reason the wireless LAVs went crazy. This may or may not have had anything to do with the weather, but regardless I'm terrified of my screen freezing or even just internal condensation. We discussed building a rack for the digi002 and include some sort of insulation for the laptop. Anyone have any suggestions on keeping computers warm in ext shoots? We have microtracks to patch everything in from for really cold environments, or just various situations, but it's such a nice relief to see clean wav files during shoots. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Believe it or not, insulation will be a big factor in keeping these guys warm. The computers are producing heat, so packing stuff around your computers will help it out a ton. If you can stuff chemical pocket-warmers into your insulation, that might help too.

If possible, can you run your wires into a car and keep the computer in there? If you can keep the car warm that would help a ton (and if not still help protect the computer from the cold.)
