The project I'm currently working on calls for the stomach of the main character to growl. However, stomach growls are kind of unpredictable, so recording the sound of an actual stomach seems unpractical. I was wondering if anyone had some tips or knew of anything that sounds like a growling stomach.

If you can get a baby to drink a bottle for a couple minutes, when he takes it out of his mouth it can make a bubbling sound. Or, try to record that water cooler gurgling sound.
Rub baloons together and slow it down. Ruler on the edge of a desk with all the high frequencies taken out?
I'm completely guessing here, of course.

A growling stomach is just small airbubbles opportunistically making their way around your gut. Any bubbling water would do. Like Nerd said, try the gurgling water cooler trick, but muffle it some, slow it down, and lower the tone to get the stomach right. You should also add the rubber balloon trick as mentioned above also to get those "internal fart" characteristics that stomach also make. Again, don't use the sound straight. Muffle it and play with the pitch.
We'd love to hear what you come up with!
Yeah, you could also try filling one of those bendy balloons with some water and air and try to get a bubbling noise out of that.
