me made the legs so far and i just have to finish stuffing them and then make the torso. it looks good but my neighbor's leg got pins and needles in the middle of it so it wasn't fun for him but other than that it looks really good and has a decent weight to it (i was surprised) i'll post updates

I'd recomend putting socks on the dummy. Never know if the film will pick up the duct taped legs :-P

AWESOME DUMMY!
To Hotelfboy55: The clothes you were under the tape become part of the dummy. You cut the tape and clothes off as one piece then re-tape the cuts and stuff it. Then you need another set of clothes to actually dress your dummy.
Go forth and create duct tape people in your image!

I think I'm going to make one. But I don't have anyone to help me. It'll be a me dummy...made by me. This could hurt. Don't worry Erik, if I mutilate myself, I won't sue.

MAKE SURE NOT TO CUT YOUR ACTOR!!! it hurts a lot......OH!! and it helps when you are makin the torso to cut all the way down the back first, that way your actor can breath!!! and it makes the whole thing a whole lot eaisier......also on the head we used paper towels......it worked..

i may be making 3 of these life like dummys for an upcoming movie... problem is 2 of my actors will be male one will be female. How do you suggest i go about making the upper torso of the female (we're talking a 17 year old here). Also whats the easiest way to cut off the pants, and attaching the two sections

I own a mannequin. Bought it off eBay for a screen used movie costume I purchased. Mannequins are expensive, usually around $150-$300. But mine was about $90 with shipping in that price. Plus I have something that is the same height and build as me. If I were to use it as a stunt dummy, which is perfectly possible, I'd have to put some tape around the joints and midsection so it didn't break apart in a fall. Of course the downside to using an expensive mannequin over a homemade dummy is it's rigid and won't flap around in a fall the way yours will.
