Detonationfilms compositing

I'm trying to use a few explosions and I cant get rid of the blue background and when i do everything just turns dark or completely black. None of the compositing modes are working. Can someone help?

Use a chroma keyer, for christ's sake. Under Effects < Keying < Chroma Key

lol doa productions I already checked the tutorials and they were useless for what im doing thebackground for mine is blue and the way they composite theirs is different than mine.. I'm not an idiot I already know to check before asking

Yet you won't use the chroma key effect filter to do a simple task.
