It was my birthday recently and one of the presents I got was the book Special Makeup Effects for Stage & Screen: Making and Applying Prosthetics http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0240809963/ref=sib_rdr_dp (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0240809963/ref=sib_rdr_dp)
which also came with a short DVD
In both the book and the DVD the author/Narrator kept stating that He didn't use Spirit Gum but that he used Telesis 5 Adhesive

a) it doesn't come off when you sweat and is both Flexible and stronger; and

b) Because it isn't a skin irritant

I've had a few problems with using Spirit Gum in the past as it doesn't react well with my skin (My left cheekbone is still red from the last time I used it on bare skin) so I've started applying a thin Layer of liquid Latex onto my skin before I apply the Spirit Gum but now it doesn't hold very well.

In Q and Erik a while ago They covered some Spirit gum substitutes but they didn't realy help me that much. http://www.indymogul.com/q-n-erik/episode/QE_20071101

I've considered buying some Telesis 5 but searching on the internet, it seems to be very expensive http://www.mouldlife.net/telesis-5-a...nners-57-c.asp (http://www.mouldlife.net/telesis-5-adhesive-and-thinners-57-c.asp) and I was woundering if anyone here has had experience working with it and if so, would it be an investment or should I just save my money up for something else

I've not used Telesis myself, but as I understand it, it's a silicone-based adhesive that is meant to be stronger and and more suitable than Spirit Gum (which I only use for hair products such as lace wigs). It would probably be a nice step up and reasonable investment. However, I don't believe Telesis is best suited for large prosthetics. I use Pros-Aide for all my prosthetic work. Whatever you do, be sure to get the proper remover for it.

And regarding the Q and Erik Spirit Gum substitute recommendation about "manning up:" utter crap. In all seriousness, if someone's experiencing a reaction to using any makeup product, stop using it.

Thanks For the Advice :)

Looking at a few websites it looks like I can get hold of some Pros-Aide and remover for relatively little expence.

PS Just a side note but I did actualy use your phantom on a budget videos on youtube a few months ago to create a Phantom of the opera costume and prosthetics, so a belated thanks to you there as well.
