I have a sony HDR-XR200V and it has a hot shoe on it. I what to use an external mic, but, it does not have a mic input, my mistake for not doing proper research. All that I am wondering is: Do I have to use the sony hot shoe powered mics like these:

ECM-HGZ1: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/367193-REG/Sony_ECMHGZ1_ECM_HGZ1_Shotgun_Zoom_Mic.html

ECM-HST1:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/396836-REG/Sony_ECMHST1_ECM_HST1_Microphone.html

ECM-HW1:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/418319-REG/Sony_ECMHW1_ECM_HW1_Bluetooth_Wireless_Microphone. html

Basically what I'm getting at is am I just limited to just those three mics or can the powered canon mics work as well?

EDIT:
Also does anyone know where I could find a VMC-K100: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/479976-REG/Sony_VMCK100_VMC_K100_Microphone_Adapter_Cable.htm l#reviews

B&H used to have them, but the are now discontinued.

PM me and i can give you the link to a hotshoe to XLR input. Its like the K100 except it has 2 XLR jacks. You'll need a flash bracket though....
