I was playing this recently, and wondered what it would be like as a movie. My initial reaction was that it should never be tried and never even thought about, but upon further thought, I warmed to the idea. The epic battles one could create would be fantastic, and with creatures like Deathclaws and Feral Ghouls, you could, in the right hands, make one hell of a film.

Any thoughts?

They already made it. It was called Mad Max.

Win. They couldn't fit the whole thing into just one movie though. That's why they made "Beyond Thunderdome"

I played around with this once. You just have to turn the HUD and Cross Hairs off in the options and put away your gun and you basically become a camera. I did some dolly shots on the side of the bridge over by the Brotherhood of Steel base and it made a nice establishing shot. I never made a movie using this but you could make something using this method.

Whilst that is certainly a rather awesome looking film, it's not Fallout.

I don't think a Fallout film would be such a good idea. The protagonist is, after all, a fairly blank slate and it would be difficult to pull off the retro-futurism and dark humour of the series. Bethesda didn't even fully manage it, even if they made a good stab at it.

In any case, the wasteland left over from a nuclear war would be alot more like Threads than Mad Max or anything else.

WIN.

I saw that trailer a few months ago, and thought nothing of it. It looked OK, but it didn't once dawn on me that it looked strikingly similar to 2 video games.

No doubt I will see that movie when it comes out through a different lens.
