Legend of Zelda Props and Effects

Three of my friends and I are going Trick-or-Treating this Halloween as the four Links from the Four Swords game, but we don't know what to make our costumes out of, or where to get the materials. I would really appreciate it if you would help me out on this one, Thx!

P.S. I have a budget of $20 per costume.

Real easy. Got to WalMart, and got to the fabric section. You can get a huge roll for fabric for really cheap. The fabric I used to make my green screen which is huge, was may 3-4 dollars? And you can get it in any color of the rainbow.

Get a T-shirt that fits you, and lay it down onto the fabric,
sketch it out (get your friends to do the same) but modify the shape to be a bit longer and more "tunic" looking.

Cut two pieces of the fabric out in the shape of a tunic, go along the edges with a sewing machine (ONE of your Mom's or Grandma's has to have one or know how too) don't go over the arm holes or the bottom, or the head hole, but around the other edges, THEN turn it inside out, kind of like the Super Hero costume Erik made.

Draw another little kind of soft edged triangle shape for the cap, it's kind of cone shaped, so think of it in silhouette and cut that shape out twice, (Make sure it'll fit on your head), and sew it together and turn it inside out.

The Belt is just a regular belt on the outside of the Tunic, with a satchel on the side to hold your weapon, and stuff.

Get some white tights for the bottom. Or very short shorts, that would fit under the tunic bottom (which should cover your waist and hips, but be well above your knees.) But Tights are what Link wears.

Boots would work well to fill out the ensemble, and there you go, Link costume.

Yes! I love making costumes/ helping people make them. This is were being a girl on this forum comes in handy.. 20 buck huh? that's not all that much. taking a look at the costume though it seems pretty simple. I would suggest getting some white tights first. you can find these pretty much anywhere in the ladies section. Then go a thrift store and try and find some brown boots... if you can do that you can alway sew a pointed cover to fit over your normal shoes with some brown fabric and a little bit of elastic. My suggestion for the body of the costume is to find some really really big t-shirts the biggest size you can get in your desired color. next you want to move onto the belt.. if you have a brown one great .. if not .. use some more brown fabric and make a band using some more elastic so it fits snuggly around your waist .. this will create the "dress" sort of look Link wears.. next .. the hat ..get some more fabric the same color as your over sized shirt .. you want to go with the basic shape of a wind sock .. and then sew. to keep the hat from falling off borrow some bobby pins from your mom or just buy a pack and clip the hat to your hair. make your weapond out of cardboard and paint them ... i hope i explained everything okay .. ps wear shorts under your "dress" thing .. no one wants to see your naked bits ..

Well if you make a picture with them on a green background and chroma key the green out in Wax 2.0,it might work.Not sure what you mean though

For windows movie maker I would do what CR suggested. Make what you want to overlay in a picture the same size as your video with a background you can key out.

For a Master Sword you could get a cheap plastic swrod and make a cardboard/paper mache (or however it's spelt :/) hilt and spray it silver and purple/blue.

EXtremely vague post.... What kind of hero? There are so many, it is ridiculous to think we could give you a tutorial without the details. What have you tried? What would you prefer? Anyways... Indymogul already did super-hero tutorial on the 'flying squirrel' man. Search youtube or the video archive, seriously, It would be so much faster if people used the search button :D
