View Full Version : Half the frame rate or half (ok, technically 1/4) the resolution?

I have a sacrifice to make with my latest movie experiment. I can record at 640x480 but at 15fps, or I can record at 30fps if I drop my resolution down to 320x240. At first, the plan is to only use this camera for certain shots, but if it knocks my socks off with the video like it has the still images I've seen, I may make this my primary camera for a while.

So, would you rather see a movie done at 320x240 with a smooth frame rate of 30 frames per second, or would you opt for a higher resolution of 640x480, even if it's only 15 frames per second?

I would definitely rather it be 320x240. And you you're going to upload it to YouTube, that's the size they will put it in anyway. A choppy movie is one of the worst things of all time.

You just can't add back information that was never recorded.
