Okay, so. Currently I'm editing my video on an Imac G5 from like, 2005. It's getting kinda slow, even though I only use FCE4. I'm thinking about getting a new computer, and have narrowed it down to either a Mac Pro or a Macbook Pro. Basically what I need to know are the minimum requirements for editing on these. I have some info that you may/may not need to figure this out.

Video Format: HD
Input Cable: Firewire
Camera: HV30
Programs: FCS2 and AECS4

PS: If any of you think you can point me in the direction of a better MAC for this stuff, please do so.

If you don't mind spending the extra cast definitely get a Mac Pro. Desktops are almost always better for editing than laptops just because they more room to add cards and stuff in. But a Macbook Pro will do what you want just fine.
