i have shot and edited a two camera dance performance from my school.

PAL
25 fps
field dominance: lower (even)
audio: 48 KHz 16-bit
res: 720x576
duration: 41 minute

I need to give my school a video file with the highest quality possible so they can burn it to DVDs (my school uses PCs and adobe premiere) i don't know if this matters.

I've edited and i will export it with final cut pro 6.0.5

what kind of format and specific settings should i use?

well first of all make sure you deinterlace it when you have exported it,and other than that,i would just go with what you normaly go with as i do not think the settings differin quality that much, although i am not entirely sure!;)

It's already deinterlaced, only the original source it was SHOT AT was interlaced.
but i have never exported in full quality, always for the web that's why i'm asking

Good question, Mateo...

I have a similar thing, only I can NEVER get the quality of my videos to be as exact as the source material. It always looks great in FCP, but whenever I try to export, the quality is never tip-top.

So yeah, I'd like to know the answer to this too.

Well, if you really want to export at full quality export using Quicktime >MOV >"Uncompressed" or compression "none" and then set your size to be the original resolution of your source footage. However this will be a huge file (around 2-3 GB per minute) so it will never fit on a DVD. When you export for a DVD you aren't supposed to export in full quality because the DVD burner compresses the crap out of it anyway. Use MPEG-2. That is the DVD standard, I'm pretty sure.

I can't seem to find a way to export MPEG-2

export > quicktime movie > setttings doesn't let me choose MPEG-2, nor export with quicktime conversion

what format can encode in MPEG-2? i thought quicktime could but it doesn't show it here
