http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indy_Mogul

I changed the URL, because on the front page, Indy Mogul is two words, and there is a space between them, so the original article is still the same, but now it re-directs to Indy Mogul even if you type in Indymogul.

WesScog
11-26-2007, 01:04 AM
Wait, question, is Indy Mogul supposed to be spelt Indy Mogul, or IndyMogul?

Because on the front page over on the left bar, it's spelt Indy Mogul guide. Also, in the title on the page, it's broken up in the logo.

But on the Forum links section it's 'IndyMogul Forums'.

Wait, question, is Indy Mogul supposed to be spelt Indy Mogul, or IndyMogul?

On the About page, it's consistently listed as Indy Mogul. It includes the space between the words. Plus, the logo itself is broken up, without a hyphen, thereby suggesting two seperate words.

If I had a Wikipedia account, I'd totally add chunks of info to that article. Maybe I'll get one later...

Ok, they deleted the article again.

Here is the article that I just reposted.

"Indy Mogul is an Internet network consisting of three weekly shows that air on the website, IndyMogul.com and YouTube.com among others, as part of Fred Seibert and Herb Scannell's Next New Networks block of internet programming, alongside Channel Frederator, VODCars, FastLaneDaily, ThreadBanger, and other niche networks.
Indy Mogul
The Indy Mogul is a Channel on Next New Networks that focuses on various components of Independent Film Making. Providing instructions on many special effects and props that are inexpensively made, to valuable information about film making in general.
Backyard F/X every Monday.
Q and Erik every Thursday
Weekend Extra Every Friday
Backyard FX
Backyard FX (or BFX) is the original show for IndyMogul, hosted by Erik Beck. BFX shows how to create inexpensive special effects. The first episode was uploaded on May 15, 2007. It was originally produced in Oakland, California, before moving to New York City in August 2007. It airs weekly on Mondays.
Subjects covered by BFX are chosen democratically from viewer requests, and produced for under $50. Budgets are chosen by a spin of the "Wheel of Prosperity".
Justin Johnson introduced Next New Networks to a pilot episode created by his friend Erik Beck, Next New Networks agreed to pick up the series and a contract was signed to create more episodes.
The Wheel of Prosperity
Every episode (with a few exceptions) has Erik or his puppet Gary spin the wheel of Prosperity to determine the budget for that week's special effect.
Weekend Extra
Weekend Extra is another show explaining how to do inexpensive special effects, hosted by Steve Nelson. It features more technical aspects of independent filmmaking, such as lighting, sound, editing, and camera operation. Weekend Extra also features tutorials sent in by IndyMogul viewers. It airs weekly on Fridays.
The first episodes were created in-house by Alan Kaufman and Jared Roessler. Steve Nelson is now in charge of the content that Weekend Extra distributes. Alan Kaufman and Jared Roessler are employees of Next New Networks and occasionally contribute material/ideas/footage/projects to Weekend Extra.
Q and Erik
Q and Erik is a question and answer format show hosted by Erik Beck, answering questions asked by the viewers. It airs weekly on Thursdays.

I did a little perfectionist-like work on there =P But, for the episode guide, couldn't we do something like, for example, this? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Good_Eats_episodes) You'll probably have to make a whole new article, and I don't know how you'd stop it from getting deleted, but I think that's how it would be done.

Don't. I spent hours working on an episode guide, only to have Wikipedia repeatedly take it down.

Can I just copy the forum post

into the original article?

I'm gonna try that but keep it organized.

In the mean time I'll continue what I'm doing and see if it works.

NOTE: I'm saving all I do into a seperate .txt document in case they do take down the page, then I can still re-post it into the original IM page.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indy_Mogul

Spent some time fixing the page up.
-Added (A lot of) Citations
-Added that "Episode List" page. It has all of the first season episodes and the "Best Short Films in the World" episode in its own category. Episodes are in order of Air Date.
-Added "Noteworthy Mogulers" section.
-Seperated "In the Film Industry" and added "In the Media"
-Edited some other sections (Not terribly; mainly punctuation and organization)

Hope you like it if you decide to go check it out. Please feel free to add or edit anything I may have missed. I still need to create the episode lists for "Q & Erik", "BFX Weekend Extra", and "4-Minute Film School."
There are also a few citations that still need to be found under "Backyard FX." Please fix them if you have solid proof. I will keep looking but I'm having a bit of a difficult time.

Thank you for contributing if you choose to do so. Please help us to keep this page!

-Klick

Note: If they decide to take it down I have the code so I can just put it back up.

Ok,
I was planning on adding a "Hall of Fame" section to the episode list.

I can see where neutrality may become an issue so it might be better if I just moved it all into a "Hall of Fame" section. If no one objects, though, I'm thinking about keeping the list from "Erik Beck" to "Wesley Scoggins" and the two Interns at the end and re-naming the section to be those who run Indy Mogul. I don't think that should be a problem.

EDIT: Created "Hall Of Fame" section.

I added a warning about ol' tex...

Sorry, apparently he and Ciwi were deleted from the "Hall of Fame" list for not actually being inducted. The list didn't say they were, though. I guess it makes sense, but it's still annoying.

How does a history section sound? That way we can mention things like Texabyte and good things other mogulers have done without sounding biased (we can try, at least).
