So I have an iMac and I wanted to play a clip or two in reverse. I don't need it for any of my films, just kind of a cool side project I guess. However, as far I'm aware, iMovie does not let you play a clip in reverse.

Does anyone know of any free programs I could download that are compatible with Mac?

Or does anyone know how to play a clip in reverse using iMovie?

I think that if you go to the telekenisis episode on Indy Mogul it has some free downloads to reverse your footage.

Yeah, say AVIsynth works, but I don't know if it's Mac compatible, and your video needs to be AVI format, but, here's the link anyway: Http://www.avisynth.org

It's not Mac compatible. It hooks into Windows' DirectShow, so a port would be exceptionally unlikely. It'd be more of an inspired sister project rather than an actual port.

on imovie, you use the panel that says effects, transitions, etc. there is one that is to reverse footage. i am not on a mac at the moment, so i cannot say exactly what tab, but i have made an entire reverse movie on imovie

depends, are you using iMovie 08, because it lost a bunch of features, if you still have the iMovie HD, it should work.

Actually it does. Just hit effects, fast/slow/reverse

Dont buy a mac:p lol its that simple. Sorry i dont have anything usful to say, but ya Imovie can go in reverse, im almost sure of it, since in grade 8 i say a bunch of kids editing a movie with revers. maybe take a time warp affect and put it into the negatives if you can add a number in
