whether your climbing a collapsing mountain or hiding under a desk during an earthquake ill tell you how to make dirt fall and its real simple its really just camera angles.I'm actually using the effect in a war movie, there are soldiers going through a trench and a bomb lands close by and the dirt showers on the trenches.
here it is easy and simple.
what you need
-plastic bag
-dirt/sand
-knife
fill a shopping bad with dirt and tie it off.
have someone hold it in the air above the shot and tear open the bottom. you can control how much comes out by the size of the hole and u can stop it by putting your hand over the hole

I don't think this tip would really require it's own episode

Why not? It's as good as the original fog weekend extra.

Well fog can play a big part in alot of movies. Dirt fall i'd call more of a nice effect to add on

Maybe he could do a 15 second quick tip for the end of an episode? Would be cool to add in user video for that section as well.

Yeah, that'd work. Unless you wanted to do a double weekend extra release or something

If he made his own test film this could be at least 60 second long.

im sure indy mogul gets alot of short user submitted tips, it would be really cool to put alot of the short ones together for an episode of weekend extra or something.

It really doesn't. BUT, there are lots of effects that don't need their own episodes, so throw them all together into one! Because it is a pretty good effect.

hey id love to do a weekend extra on it! just tell me where to upload it or send it
just one thing, i'm not really into the film making thing yet so all i have is a digital cam so to get any decent picture i need a nice bright day so it might take some time.
