Dear friends,
I just bought a JVC HD7 recently. Does anyone know how to switch to 4:3 video format? Or is it possible to convert 16:9 to 4:3 without distortation?
Many thanks.
i have the one step down version and you change it in the settings by going to menu ,setting, video settings, then theres a tab that says 16:9 and click and turn it off
try that

It's possible, but you've got to matte the frame. So you're going to be working with a lot less data visually.

Hmm. I'm fairly sure that there is a way to do it anamorphic. I'll look into it and try to get back to you.
If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to do that? I have the same camera but I've never wanted to.I love 16X9. Also, how are you liking it so far? Are you getting hung up on .TOD's? If you have any more problems, I may be able to help, I also suggest this forum:

I've gotten some very useful information, and help there.
Good luck with your HD7, I hope you like yours as much I do.

I'm currently updating a old corporate video with some new clips using HD7. The old video are shot on 4:3.
I still can't find the setting to from 16:9 to 4:3
I like this HD7 design and features very much. But importing it to Mac iMovie is really slow.

Do you know if the camera shoots in true 16:9 or black-line 16:9...?

It's HD, so it's true 16:9.
